A $1.04 billion Powerball jackpot ticket sold at the Hy-Vee Fast and Fresh in Quincy, Illinois, was claimed by a winner who chose to remain anonymous.
The winner said they spent just $2 on a single line of Powerball numbers. They said the winning was a blessing, saying they are grateful for the unexpected and extraordinary opportunity.
The winner opted for a lump sum payment instead of the annuity option, which means they will receive the cash value of $450.5 million.
The Hy-Vee Fast and Fresh on 36th Street will also receive a $500,000 retailer bonus for selling the winning ticket.
