Pennsylvania couple celebrates 70th anniversary
LEBANON, Pa. —
A Pennsylvania couple celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows at the exact time they were married seven decades ago.
Homer Kreider, 92, and Faye Kreider, 88, had their vow renewal ceremony performed by a friend of their daughter at 1 p.m., the same time they tied the knot 70 years ago.
They live in their home, where Homer takes care of and pampers Faye, who has dementia and Parkinson’s disease.
“Congratulations. You may now kiss the bride,” the officiant said during the ceremony.
The couple first met on a blind date at the Dixie Drive-In. Homer fell asleep during the date, but his daughter explained, “He was a hard-working farmer.”
It took him six months to get another date with Faye.
After six months of marriage, Homer was drafted, and the couple spent some time apart early in their relationship.
Their enduring love was celebrated with family and friends, marking a lifetime of commitment and care.
