Oso Canyon Fire ignites west of Espanola

The fire was discovered Sunday afternoon. An estimated 10 acres have burned in the fire and smoke can be seen from Espanola and Ohkay Owingeh.

Another fire has ignited in New Mexico as the Oso Canyon Fire is burning west of Espanola.

According to the U.S. Forest Service, the Oso Canyon Fire was spotted Sunday afternoon and has burned 10 acres. Smoke from the fire can be seen from Espanola, Pojoaque and Ohkay Owingeh. The fire is also in a burned area from a previous fire.

No closures have been issued but people are asked to use caution and avoid the area while firefighting efforts are underway.
