Only RAMMSTEIN Would Receive A Penis Flute As A Gift From Fans

Date:

At the beginning of my time with Metal Injection, one of the first things I had learned about Rammstein was that they were fucking weird. After being subjected to watching frontman Till Lindemann‘s solo music video for “Meine Welt,” very little has come to surprise me – or quite frankly, anyone – who knows of the existence of Lindemann or Rammstein.

So, when some users logged onto Instagram yesterday morning to be greeted with a giant penis flute, I’m sure many of the reactions were to either stare in confusion, strange fascination, or franticly close out of the Instagram app and look over both shoulders to make sure no one saw Rammstein‘s most recent post. The penis flute is part of a greater exhibition that the band is putting on known as the Fan Archiv, featuring gifts Rammstein have received throughout the years from fans.

The official Rammstein Facebook account announced the exhibition with a far less intimidating gift, crocheted dolls, stating, “Rammstein receive art pieces from fans around the world every day, ranging from intricate illustrations to creative constructions. These are catalogued and safely stored in the Fan Archiv, often seen only by the band and their team. Until now!

Rammstein are opening the Fan Archiv to showcase some of their favourite pieces from across the years.

“FA10345: Crocheted dolls. Hand-crocheted versions of the band members in their stage attire!”

The exhibition is being debuted online before fans have the opportunity to visit the RammsteinStore in Berlin to see the exhibition in person. Private viewings are due to start on April 10th. The exhibition is free and is currently due to run for one month, during RammsteinStore‘s opening hours.

Among the exhibition will be the aforementioned penis flute, which has been identified and described as: “FA10334: The Penis Flute. This as-yet unplayed handmade ceramic flute, measuring 20 cm in length, holds pride of place in the Fan Archiv.” You can see the delightful gift below.

The official band social media accounts have taken to posting a barrage of gifts, showcasing pieces of the exhibition fans local to Berlin, or visiting Berlin at the time, can visit. From lego sets, to Russian dolls, to custom games, there’s a little bit of everything. You can check out some of the fan gifts below.

The Plastic Brick Stage

The Instagram caption elaborates that: “Rammstein open the Fan Archiv! FA45664: The Plastic Brick Stage. Rammstein’s iconic stage setup, complete with flames and lighting. Each member sports their own stage outfit, complemented by a highly intricate drum kit with custom parts for Schneider.”

Matryoshka Dolls

The Instagram caption quickly describes: “Rammstein Fan Archiv item FA00366: Matryoshka Dolls. These wooden dolls of the band in Russian folk garb, each member depicted in their own distinctive style and colour, are meticulously hand-painted and varnished, and have spent some time in the archive.”

Rammstein Ärgere Dich Nicht

The Instagram caption introduces: “The next item from Rammstein‘s Fan Archiv: FA32455 – Rammstein Ärgere Dich Nicht. The classic Ludo game, much loved (and hated) by families in Germany, recreated on slate for six players, with handcrafted wooden pieces.

The board game as well as many other favourites from the Fan Archiv are part of an exclusive exhibition in the RammsteinStore in Berlin. Starting with a Vernissage on April 10, the exhibition is free and will run for one month during the store opening hours!”
