Finnish melodic death metal stalwarts Omnium Gatherum have unveiled their next single, “My Pain,” from the forthcoming album May The Bridges We Burn Light The Way, due out November 7 via Century Media Records. The track arrives with a gripping new video created by the band’s longtime visual collaborator Jari Heino of Coldstore Productions.
If you’re looking for a healthy dose of super catchy melodic death metal today, here it is. Omnium Gatherum vocalist Jukka Pelkonen offered insight into the song’s emotional core, stating: “‘My Pain’ is a story about the toughness one faces when adversary appears.
“It is about the rising emotions of anger, fear, and apprehension—basically the time fight or flight mode shows its face. It is common among street gangs and soldiers but also between friends, lovers, and amongst family ties. It is a story of conquering these feelings and becoming your own master.”
Omnium Gatherum recently announced an extensive 27-date North American headlining tour. The tour kicks off November 16 in Boston, MA, and wraps up December 14 in New York City. Joining them on the road are Aether Realm, the North Carolina-based melodic death outfit, and Hinayana, Texas’ rising force in atmospheric and doom-tinged metal. Get your tickets here.
“We’re thrilled and grateful to bring May The Bridges We Burn Light The Way live to our North American fans this November,” said Omnium Gatherum. “Over the years, we’ve made a lot of great friends and gained passionate fans across the continent. Touring such a vast land is always an adventure. Especially now, it feels important to give people a momentary escape from a reality that can sometimes feel overwhelming.”
