‘Lucky’ Converse shoes make 700-mile trip after Facebook plea saves concert tradition
An Oklahoma dad’s Facebook plea helped reunite his daughter with the lucky shoes she wears to every concert — after a 700-mile trip to Colorado.

A lucky pair of shoes made a more than 700-mile journey from Oklahoma to a concert at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado after they were accidentally left behind.
When an Oklahoma father realized his daughter, who has worn the same shoes to every concert, left her Chuck Taylors behind, he took to Facebook to ask for help.
Scott Douglas, who is also a captain with the Oklahoma City Fire Department, posted on social media that they were halfway to Colorado when they realized the mistake.
“Would anyone seeing this post happen to be coming to Colorado in the next day or two? We forgot an item at our house and was going to see if someone could bring it by chance,” Douglas posted on Facebook.
When asked what the mystery item was, Douglas explained the significance behind the call to action.
“My daughter’s Converse shoes that she has worn to every concert she’s ever been to,” Douglas responded.
But the shoes carried some luck.
A Facebook user said she was headed to Breckenridge, the same place Douglas and his family were headed, on Saturday. The timing was perfect, as the concert was on Sunday.
The mission was a success. Douglas commented a picture of his daughter, the woman who carried out the mission, and the famous white shoes.
“The shoes have been delivered!!” he said.
