New York City Airports Disrupted by Air-Traffic Controller Shortage

Date:

Airports in the New York City area are under traffic restrictions from federal regulators in part because of reduced staffing at multiple air-traffic control centers.

The city’s Office of Emergency Management said a ground stop is in effect through Friday evening at JFK International Airport because of staffing shortages in the air traffic systems. Newark Liberty International Airport and LaGuardia Airport are each facing ground delays because of staffing shortages and high winds.
