Officials are reporting the start of a new wildfire in Socorro County.The Mill Fire has sparked in a remote mountainous terrain of Mill Canyon area within western Magdalena Mountains on the Magdalena Ranger District. Officials say the fire is south of NM60 and east of NM107 According to the Forest Service the fire is only estimated to be 6 acres and growing. A cause has not yet been determined.The public is encouraged to avoid the surrounding area so that first responders can continue their efforts. Drones pose a serious risk to firefighting and can cause air operations to cease.
