Extreme cold warnings and cold weather advisories issued as winter storm exits New Mexico

LITTLE BRISK OUT. THERE. IT’S FREEZING. YOU FEEL IT. SO YEAH. LET’S HEAD ON OVER TO ERIC WITH A LOOK AT YOUR FORECAST. SO WHAT WE CALL THIS LIKE A 2 OR 3 INCH SNOWFALL AROUND ALBUQUERQUE. IT WAS NICE. WE HAD LOTS OF SNOW AT OUR HOUSE. LIKE I SAID, THE KIDS WENT SLEDDING. IT WAS ENOUGH TO PLAY WITH. YEAH, THEY MADE A SNOWMAN. IT WAS AWESOME. ALAMOGORDO HAD MORE SNOW THAN WE PICKED UP HERE IN ALBUQUERQUE. THIS IS RICK WITH A VIEWER PHOTO, AND IT LOOKS LIKE ABOUT A 4 OR 5 INCH SNOWFALL HERE IN ALAMOGORDO. THIS PHOTO IS FROM YESTERDAY MORNING. BEFORE THE STORM WAS ALL SAID AND DONE. MAYBE THEY PICKED UP AN ADDITIONAL INCH ON TOP OF WHAT WE WERE LOOKING AT THERE. WELL, THE BITTER COLD CERTAINLY HAS SETTLED IN BEHIND THE STORM. TEMPERATURES THIS WEEK, THOUGH, WILL GRADUALLY WARM DAY BY DAY, AND WE DO NOT SEE ANY KIND OF RAIN OR SNOW CHANCE, AT LEAST WITHIN THIS NEXT SEVEN DAY WINDOW GOING FORWARD. COLD AIR POURING OUT OF CANADA. YOU KNOW, WE’RE NOT THE ONLY ONES FEELING IT. THIS ARCTIC AIR OUTBREAK IS WIDESPREAD. WE DON’T HAVE ANY MORE ACTIVE WEATHER COMING OUR WAY TODAY. IT’S JUST GOING TO BE MAYBE A LITTLE PATCHY. HIGH CLOUD COVER. HIGHS, 30S, 40S. WE DON’T EVEN GET UP ABOVE FREEZING IN SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO. AND WE’RE RIDING ON A COLD MORNING IN ROSWELL THIS MORNING. WE’LL WATCH FOR SOME BREEZINESS IN THE EAST, CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST. TONIGHT’S TWO DEGREE LOW TEMPERATURE IN ROSWELL WOULD BREAK THE RECORD BY ONE, SO IT COULD BE BACK TO BACK RECORD BREAKERS. WE’VE GOT THOSE TEENS AND SINGLE DIGITS AROUND MOST OF THE REST OF THE STATE. IT WILL BE LOWER 20S. SILVER CITY, TENNESSEE, DOWN TOWARDS LAS CRUCES AND DEMING AREA. NOW TOMORROW WE DO STEP UP BY ABOUT 5 TO 7 DEGREES. THAT MEANS LOWER 50S ARE BACK IN SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO. WE’RE LOOKING UP CLOSE TO 50 IN ALBUQUERQUE, ABOUT 40 IN SANTA FE. AND LOOK AT THAT 36 AND 37. THAT DOESN’T SOUND LIKE MUCH MORE ROSWELL AND CARLSBAD, BUT THAT’S YOUR FIRST TIME ABOVE FREEZING SINCE, WELL, SATURDAY MORNING, I BELIEVE WHEN WE DROP BELOW AND THEN NEVER WENT BACK ABOVE AS FAR AS BUSINESS IS CONCERNED ON TUESDAY NIGHT, EXPECTED TO BE TOO MUCH OF A FACTOR. WEDNESDAY A QUIET WEATHER DAY, BUT WITH THE CLOUD COVER SPREADING ON IN, TEMPERATURES DON’T MAKE A BIG GAIN FOR US. WE’RE UP LIKE TWO DEGREES OVER OUR TUESDAY’S HIGHS, BUT WITH THE CLOUDS AROUND, THAT’S KIND OF LIKE KRYPTONITE FOR WIND TO TRY TO DEVELOP. SO WE’RE ONLY SLIGHTLY BREEZY AT EAST, CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST PART OF THE STATE. HERE YOU GO. FOUR CORNERS FORECAST. WE ARE ABOVE FREEZING THIS AFTERNOON. JUST BARELY, THOUGH. IT’S UPPER 30S TO AROUND 40. TONIGHT’S LOW IN FARMINGTON 15. WE MAKE DAY BY DAY GAINS THOUGH AND LOOK AT BY THE UPCOMING WEEKEND. HERE WE ARE IN THE LOWER 50S. HERE’S SOUTHWEST NEW MEXICO. IT’S TEMPERATURES GENERALLY IN THE 40S TODAY A DIP TO 23 TONIGHT IN SILVER CITY. BUT TOMORROW WE JUMP LIKE TEN AND WE HANG OUT IN THOSE MIDDLE 50S FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK AND EVEN MAKE AN APPROACH AT 60 DEGREES BY SATURDAY AND ESPECIALLY SUNDAY. HERE’S SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO, AND IT’S A PAINFULLY SLOW WARM UP AGAIN. WE’RE ONLY IN THE 20S THIS AFTERNOON. ALAMOGORDO DOES HIT 40 DEGREES, THOUGH. TONIGHT’S LOW RECORD BREAKER FOR YOU IN ROSWELL 36 TOMORROW, 37 WEDNESDAY. LOOK HOW YOU ALMOST RESIST WARMING UP. THE NEXT 50 DOESN’T COME INTO THE FORECAST UNTIL SUNDAY OF THE UPCOMING WEEKEND. HERE’S NORTHEAST NEW MEXICO, YOU KNOW, RIDING OUT THAT COLD WEATHER ADVISORY IN IMPACT MOOD THIS MORNING. HIGHS IN THE 30S TO AROUND 40 THIS AFTERNOON. WE GAIN ALMOST TEN THOUGH TOMORROW AFTER A 14 DEGREE LOW TEMPERATURE. WE’RE KIND OF HANGING OUT RIGHT AROUND 50 GIVE OR TAKE EVERY DAY. LATER ON THIS WEEK. NORTH CENTRAL NEW MEXICO’S HIGHS IN THE 30S BARELY ABOVE FREEZING THROUGH MUCH OF NORTH CENTRAL NEW MEXICO. AND IT’S COLD WEATHER ADVISORIES AROUND SANTA FE. WIND CHILLS RIGHT AROUND ZERO THIS MORNING. TONIGHT’S LOW 13. WE ARE FINALLY BACK UP ABOVE 40 TOMORROW. WE CREEP UP CLOSE TO 50, MAYBE EVEN GET THERE BY THE END OF THE WEEKEND. HERE’S THE ALBUQUERQUE METRO. OUR AVERAGE HIGH IS 50 DEGREES, SO WE’RE RUNNING WELL BELOW AS AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES TODAY WILL ONLY BE AROUND 40 OR SO. THERE’S A 19 DEGREE LOW TONIGHT. WE’RE NEAR 50 TUESDAY AND EVEN CLOSER WEDNESDAY
