NEKROGOBLIKON Announce The Boiling Sea EP, Share “The Secret Elephant” Feat. REEL BIG FISH

Date:

After nearly two decades of cult stardom, chaos, and the viral mayhem of “No One Survives,” Nekrogoblikon are back with a feral new EP, The Boiling Sea, arriving April 17. The release marks a historic new era for the band — and for the first time ever, the goblin throne is officially shared.

Today, the band unveiled the video for “The Secret Elephant,” featuring ska-punk veterans Reel Big Fish. Directed by Brandon Dermer, the clip captures the band in full technicolor absurdity.

At the center of this new chapter is former mascot-turned-frontman John Goblikon, who steps fully into the spotlight with soaring melodic vocals. Sharing vocal duties is extreme metal phenom Dickie Allen of Infant Annihilator, whose throat-shredding brutality brings an apocalyptic edge to the band’s signature melodic chaos.

“I’ve been asked to give a statement on our new song ‘Secret Elephant’ and after strong consideration, I’ve decided I’m not quite sure know what that means,” Goblikon said. “But what I DO know is secrets don’t make friends… unless that secret is, of course, an elephant who you happened to befriend.

“They also say an elephant never forgets, but goblins definitely do, because I literally can’t remember where I put my phone! I had it earlier and then I got distracted by this email asking me for a quote about our new song ‘Secret Elephant,’ which is such a banger by the way. Ooh, that reminds me I gotta look for my phone!” — Sent from John’s iPhone.

Allen kept it succinct: “It was so much fun filming ourselves being goofballs. Also, has anyone seen my beer?”

Produced and mixed by metal mastermind Jason Suecof (known for his work with Job for a Cowboy and The Black Dahlia Murder), The Boiling Sea doubles down on the band’s new dual-vocal onslaught — first teased in 2025 with the double-feature videos for “Show Me Your Goblin” and “Fiend.”

Guitarist Alex Alereza reflected on the whirlwind creative process behind the release: “Writing for this release began in the midst of constant touring and right after bringing on a new vocal duo, so we found ourselves in new territories both in terms of pace and creative process.

“And that ended up being a good thing! We had a blast making this together and hope everyone enjoys these songs as much as we do. And for the Nekro fans that have been with us for a very long time, we decided to include live recordings of five Nekro classics!”

The goblin horde won’t stay submerged for long. Nekrogoblikon are set to hit the road alongside Japan’s genre-smashing metal force Hanabie., promising fans a full-blown goblin metal spectacle — complete with chaos, hooks, and whatever’s left of John‘s phone battery.
