As all eyes turn toward the conclusion of the 2026 Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association regular season, the National Finals Rodeo is raising the stakes ahead of this year’s historic event. With world titles on the line, contestants will compete for record-setting prize money and expanded payouts throughout the 10-day competition.
The NFR Committee announced today that the Wrangler NFR presented by Tractor Supply Company will pay the top eight finishers in each go-round, up from the six places that have received payouts in the past. Contestants qualifying for the NFR will see the new payout structure when the event begins Thursday, Dec. 3, and runs through Saturday, Dec. 12, at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
The total prize money for the 2026 NFR is set at $14,270,736. The total includes $1.2 million in guaranteed prize money for NFR qualifiers and $13,070,736 in competition prize money.
“The NFR will pay a record $14,270,736 to contestants this year and now, at the contestants’ urging, the rounds and average will pay out eight places,” PRCA CEO Tom Glause said in a recent release. “This will only increase the excitement at PRORODEO’s marquee event as contestants chase coveted gold buckles.”
Under the new payout structure, each go-round will pay:

The total payout for each of the 10 full go-rounds is $127,899.08.
The average payout, awarded to the top finishers based on their cumulative performance throughout the 10 days of competition in Las Vegas, remains unchanged from the 2025 payout:

The Wrangler NFR brings together the top 15 contestants in each of the PRCA’s seven events to compete for a share of the purse and the coveted PRCA Gold Buckle. In 2025, the event drew 175,846 fans across the 10 rounds of competition at the Thomas & Mack Center and extended its sellout streak to 389 consecutive performances in Las Vegas.
