Atlanta Police have arrested the brother of NFL star Calais Campbell in connection with the death of their mother after her body was found during a welfare check.According to police, Ciarre Campbell, the brother of Baltimore Ravens defensive lineman Calais Campbell, has been arrested and is facing multiple charges, including murder, in connection to the death of their mother Nateal Campbell.Police said they received a call on Tuesday for a welfare check at the mother’s home. That is when officers found her body.Warrant documents obtained by Hearst Television’s WBAL-TV 11 News confirm that Ciarre Campbell is accused of multiple offenses including murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a knife during a crime. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the family released the following statement confirming the death of Nateal Campbell:”We are devastated to share that the Campbell Family has lost its matriarch, Mrs. Nateal Campbell,” the statement said. “While the details of her passing are still being investigated, we take comfort in knowing she is reunited with our father, her beloved Chuck, and in the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We ask for privacy at this time so that we may honor her and share in our overwhelming grief privately and as a family.”Calais Campbell is a veteran American football defensive lineman in the NFL, currently playing for the Ravens.
