Metallica will perform a very special intimate concert on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, Long Island, NY, to celebrate the launch of their brand-new, year-round SiriusXM channel, Maximum Metallica. And for anyone wondering, Stephen Talkhouse has a capacity of 250 people. So this is gonna be nuts.
The channel will debut the following day, Friday, August 29, at 12 p.m. ET on Channel 42 and the SiriusXM app, offering “The Most Metallica Anywhere” — including the band’s biggest hits, deep cuts, rare recordings, live performances, exclusive interviews, and behind-the-scenes stories from across their legendary career.
Drummer Lars Ulrich revealed the news during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show on Wednesday, August 6, confirming that the August 28 show will serve as the official kickoff celebration for Maximum Metallica. Tickets for the event will not be sold to the public. Instead, Metallica‘s official fan club, the Fifth Members, can enter to win passes through a contest at metallica.com/contests, while SiriusXM will host a separate sweepstakes offering a trip to New York to attend the show.
For those who can’t make it to Long Island, the entire performance will be recorded and premiere on Maximum Metallica on Monday, September 1, at 12 p.m. ET / 9 a.m. PT, with multiple replays throughout the week. It will also be available on demand via the SiriusXM app.
Metallica says the new channel will have something for every fan — from newcomers to those who have followed them for all 176 Seasons of their career. Expect rare material, live archives, and plenty of surprises curated by the band themselves.
