Ipecac Recordings has announced a major treat for Melvins fans and vinyl collectors alike: the first-ever widely available vinyl pressings of three essential records from the band’s expansive and unpredictable discography — Colossus of Destiny, Everybody Loves Sausages, and Freak Puke.
Known for their boundary-pushing experimentation and sludge-soaked legacy, Melvins have maintained a fiercely loyal fanbase for decades. These long-awaited vinyl reissues arrive with limited-edition color variants, exclusive webstore offerings, and deluxe packaging, making them a must-have for collectors and devotees.
Colossus of Destiny (2001)
Pressed on vinyl for the very first time, Colossus of Destiny is a sprawling 2LP live noise album originally released in 2001 that captures Melvins at their most avant-garde and confrontational. The variants are:
- 600 copies on opaque purple vinyl (Ipecac webstore exclusive)
- 1200 copies on classic black vinyl
Everybody Loves Sausages (2013)
Originally only released as part of an ultra-limited box set (just 77 copies), Everybody Loves Sausages is finally seeing a proper vinyl release. The 13-track covers album features a lineup of iconic guest appearances, including:
- Jello Biafra (Roxy Music’s “In Every Dream Home A Heartache”)
- Clem Burke (The Kinks‘ “Attitude”)
- Mark Arm (The Scientists‘ “Set It on Fire”)
The variants are:
- 750 copies on apple red vinyl (Ipecac webstore exclusive)
- 1500 copies on black vinyl
Freak Puke (2012)
Featuring the Melvins Lite lineup — Trevor Dunn, King Buzzo, and Dale Crover — Freak Puke marked a distinct shift in sound and lineup. Previously available only as a series of limited picture discs, this reissue marks its most accessible vinyl edition to date. The variants are:
- 750 copies on opaque olive green vinyl (Ipecac webstore exclusive)
- 1500 copies on black vinyl
All three albums include a 12-page booklet featuring artwork and design by longtime Melvins collaborator (and Buzz‘s wife) Mackie Osborne, enhancing the collector appeal of these already coveted reissues.
