Meghan Patrick Shares Pregnancy Complications, Cancels Summer Tou

Date:

Meghan Patrick says her baby’s well-being has to come first and she’s been through too much pain to behave differently. The “Golden Child” singer is canceling all remaining tour dates, beginning with June’s shows.

  • Meghan Patrick was a 2026 Taste of Country RISER as well as a CRS New Faces artist.
  • She announced she was pregnant with her first child in March.
  • The 39-year-old Canadian is married to singer Mitchell Tenpenny.

Taking to social media, Patrick explained her decision and admitted her initial response to the pregnancy was wrong.

“I was determined not to slow down,” she says. “I thought I had to prove that pregnancy wouldn’t change anything and that I could push through no matter what.”

Conversations with doctors, her husband and those close to her have since led her to a different conclusion. She doesn’t have anything to prove, she shares.

“More importantly, I’ve realized my health and my baby girl’s well-being have to come first.”

The country music couple married in 2022 but didn’t share news of a pregnancy until this year. Their announcement also revealed they’d be having a baby girl and she’d arrive this fall.

“A lot of this tour was booked before I knew I was pregnant, and before I understood just how physically and mentally difficult this season would be,” she says of a decision to cancel shows.

“Between complications, hospital visits, exhaustion, and the anxiety that comes with experiencing a previous miscarriage, I’ve had to take a hard look at what’s truly important right now.”

After announcing she was pregnant, Patrick referred to her struggles to get pregnant in recent years while talking to the Upload podcast. She’s not gone into detail about the nature of her complications but the exhaustion and anxiety are relatable for any mother.

Meghan Patrick Canceled Tour Dates

Patrick is canceling 11 dates on her Golden Child Tour. The full list is below. She says fans will get a refund and she will be back to make them up at a later date.

“I’ve spent years believing I had to constantly push harder, sacrifice more, and prove myself to deserve a place in this industry,” she says. “But I don’t want to contribute to the idea that women have to run themselves into the ground to succeed. Right now, being the best mother I can be matters more than anything else.”

June 10 — Halifax, Miss.
June 12 — Moncton, Neb.
