SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico state senators have passed a medical malpractice reform bill, and it’s headed to Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s desk. House Bill 99 caps punitive damages at $1 million for independent providers and clinics, $6 million for locally-owned hospitals, and $15 million for larger hospitals.
