MARILYN MANSON Announces Two-Night Antichrist Superstar Anniversary Residency In Los Angeles

Date:

Controversial shock rocker Marilyn Manson has announced a two-night residency in Los Angeles celebrating the 30th anniversary of his landmark album Antichrist Superstar.

The concerts will take place at The Wiltern on October 31 and November 1, marking three decades since the platinum-certified record helped define the darker edge of 1990s alternative and industrial metal.

Manson shared a statement about the upcoming performances: “I’m celebrating 30 years of Antichrist Superstar at The Wiltern with a set that dives deep into this defining record and spans the milestones that followed. It’s a tribute to where I began – and everything I have become.”

The special residency promises a setlist heavily focused on the album while also revisiting key moments from Manson‘s career that followed its release.

Released on October 8, 1996, Antichrist Superstar is the second studio album by Marilyn Manson. The record was produced by the band’s frontman alongside Sean Beavan, Dave Ogilvie, and Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, and recorded at Nothing Studios in New Orleans.

Its production was marked by heavy drug use and growing tensions within the band, ultimately leading to the acrimonious firing of founding guitarist Daisy Berkowitz during the recording process.

The record was promoted through the controversial Dead to the World Tour, which sparked widespread protests from religious groups across North America. Many concerts were picketed amid allegations of onstage drug use, Satanic rituals, and other sensational claims, leading to congressional scrutiny and public controversy.

During this period, the band also released several non-album tracks on film soundtracks, including “Apple of Sodom” and “Long Hard Road Out of Hell”.
