One man is dead and a second person is in custody after a shooting incident Saturday morning involving Albuquerque police.APD Interim Chief Cecily Barker said officers received a call concerning a burglary at a package and shipping facility on the 11000 block of Cochiti Road SE around 9:30 a.m. According to Barker, an armed suspect placed some items into a bin, loaded them into a truck and left the scene.Barker said officers located the truck near Singing Arrow Avenue SE and Doe Lane SE, which led to a foot chase. The suspect then attempted to carjack another vehicle. Witnesses told police the suspect displayed his gun.”The officer did attempt to tase the subject. It was not successful, and at least one officer fired his firearm,” Barker said. That individual was pronounced dead at the scene. Barker said the second person is in custody.Barker said the deceased suspect has been tentatively identified and has a lengthy criminal history. Official confirmation is pending.
