A lawsuit claims a 14-year-old girl was drugged and raped after exiting a group home in Albuquerque.Court documents state the child was staying at the HOPE House in late January 2025 when she ran away. This led to her being picked up by a man using a rideshare service.The driver then brought the teen to a hotel and gave her something believed to be a date rape drug, according to the lawsuit. The driver is also being accused of brandishing a firearm toward the teen.The lawsuit states the teen was raped, which led to her bleeding. It later states the driver brought her back to HOPE House. She was dropped back at the facility around 2 a.m. Jan. 30, 2025.She tried to enter HOPE House and was prevented from entering and had to stay outside as punishment for running away, according to court documents. She was given a small blanket and her state Children, Youth and Families Department case worker was contacted.The CYFD worker arrived after the child was outside for about 40 minutes, according to court documents. She was then taken to a hospital where Albuquerque police was contacted.However, the lawsuit claims Albuquerque police mistakenly treated the teen as an adult and CYFD did not correct the department in this regard. CYFD is also accused of not adequately following up with medical providers to ensure she was properly treated.Court records also claim three girls have been adducted and sexually assaulted since HOPE House opened its doors.
