Labor Day weekend forecast keeps daily shower and storm chances

Temperatures trend slightly above average, hotter south and east.

The Labor Day weekend is here! If you are enjoying a three-day break, plan on plenty of sunshine and dry conditions through midday. Afternoon clouds will increase, bringing a slight chance for scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms, so have a plan B for those outdoor evening activities.

Temperatures trend slightly above average, hotter across southern and eastern on Saturday. Highs across the Albuquerque metro push into the lower 90s, mid 80s in Santa Fe. Burn scar flooding is possible Saturday afternoon with a Flood Watch in place for the northern end of the Sacramento Mountains until 6 p.m. Partly cloudy and generally dry for Albuquerque and Santa Fe on Saturday night.

Sunday is the pick day of the holiday weekend. While there will be a better chance for scattered showers and isolated storms, most areas will remain dry until Sunday night. Labor Day Monday won’t be a washout. What starts as a partly cloudy holiday morning will end with a good chance for rain and storms through most of the evening.
