Jeff Webb, cheerleading entrepreneur and Charlie Kirk mentor, dies after accident at 76

Date:

Cheerleading entrepreneur and conservative activist Jeff Webb, described as a mentor to slain Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, died “following complications after an accident,” officials said. He was 76.

The International Cheer Union announced over the weekend that Webb, the president of the union who’s known as the “founder of modern cheerleading,” had passed.

“Unfortunate news to share. The President of the International Cheer Union, Jeff Webb has passed away following complications after an accident,” according to an ICU statement.

“The founder of modern cheerleading, he spent his life building the sport he loved and advocating for young people everywhere.”

ICU did not provide further details on how or when Webb died.

The youth-focused conservative group, Turning Point USA, also paid tribute to Webb, calling him a “visionary who helped shape generations of young leaders and believed deeply in the power of community and country.”

“A dear friend to Turning Point USA and Charlie. He will be greatly missed,” Turning Point said in a statement.

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
