The owners of an event center and concert venue are investigating reports of injuries at a tribute concert to the late Ozzy Osbourne. Loya said a mosh pit broke out in the middle of the crowd, which he admitted is common at these kinds of concerts. However, he said this one got out of hand.He told KOAT his friend and her then got swept up into a mosh pit, and both had to be taken to the hospital.”Some children were swept up in it and trampled and injured. It was so bad, in fact, that the children were taken to the hospital last night,” Loya said.A spokesman for Albuquerque Fire Rescue did confirm to KOAT that two service calls were made to Revel Entertainment during the time of the tribute show. Revel Entertainment’s responseChavez told KOAT Thursday that he will not comment on the incidents from Wednesday night at this time, as his team is still investigating exactly what happened.However, he did say attendee safety is Revel’s utmost priority, and adds proper protocol was followed Wednesday night by staff and security.”There’s always people keeping an eye in the crowd, and when that does happen, we react and whether it’s an ejection or, you know, whatever steps necessary, we will take that precaution and follow through,” Chavez said. Concerns from some attendees about security and outside alcohol being snuck into the show were also addressed by Chavez.”Metal detectors will pick up caps, that kind of stuff, but we might do a visual, have you lift up your shirt, have your lift up you hoodie, and typically we don’t see a lot of , and I can’t say that we did last night either, I don’t know that that was the case last night,” Chavez said. Around 2,000 people showed up to Revel Entertainment Wednesday night to pay tribute to heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne, who died the day before.
