Set against the backdrop of the scenic Teton Mountain Range in Driggs, Idaho, the inaugural Ridgeview PRCA Rodeo wrote its first chapter in ProRodeo history. The event paid out $255,820 and attracted many of the sport’s top athletes as they headed west for Cowboy Christmas and the summer rodeo run.
In the bareback riding, Bronc Marriott claimed the first championship of the 2026 event with an 89.5-point ride aboard Summit Pro Rodeo’s Game Trail. The victory earned Marriott $7,896 and provided a strong start to his summer campaign.
World champion steer wrestler Tyler Waguespack captured the title with a blazing 3.4-second run, earning $4,808. The Louisiana cowboy, who currently leads the PRCA world standings, increased his season earnings to $105,183 thusfar in 2026.
In the team roping, all eyes were on Cash Duty and Trent Vaught, who won the one-header competition with a 4.7-second run. The pair earned $5,464 each to kick off their summer run.
Southeastern Idaho cowboy Kade Bruno thrilled the hometown crowd with an 89.5-point saddle bronc ride aboard Frontier Rodeo’s Big Sky, earning $7,755. Currently fourth in the world standings, Bruno will look to secure his fifth National Finals Rodeo qualification and position himself for a world title run this December.
The tie-down roping title was shared by Resistol Rookie Brodey Clemons and world champion Shane Hanchey. Both cowboys stopped the clock in 7.8 seconds, earning $4,935 apiece.
Barrel racer Carlee Otero continued her successful 2026 season, posting a winning time of 17.17 seconds to collect $7,029.
Closing out the inaugural event was fellow Idaho cowboy Tristen Hutchings, who delivered a standout 89.5-point bull ride aboard Frontier Rodeo’s Misunderstood. The win earned Hutchings $7,755 and added to his lead in the PRCA world standings, where he has amassed $156,751 thusfar this season.
With the inaugural Ridgeview PRCA Rodeo now in the books, athletes will look to carry their momentum into the heart of the summer run as the season’s biggest storylines continue to unfold.
