Impact rain continues Thursday though coverage becomes spotty

Our stretch of rainy days continues, but we’ll see the intensity dial back quite a bit today. Thursday is our third Impact Weather Day. After a cool and foggy start, Thursday shapes up to be partly sunny with chances for light to moderate rain through most of the day on Thursday, but coverage will become spotty. Isolated storms are possible especially through the afternoon and evening. While there will be some sunshine breaking through, the cloud cover will hold temperatures below average again, feeing like Fall. Highs across the Albuquerque metro should reach 74 degrees, around 64 in Santa Fe.
The monsoon moisture surge will continue at a less intense pace on Friday. Parts of the state remain under the threat of locally heavy rainfall, though rain totals will start to taper off. Go ahead with your plans for Friday night as the state begins to dry out. So far, the first weekend of Fall looks great. Monsoon moisture and thunderstorm chances make a comeback early next week.
