ILL NIÑO Parts With Brand New Guitarist Hired Earlier This Year

Date:

With three weeks to go until Ill Niño embark on their 25th anniversary tour for their debut record, Revolution Revolución, now-former guitarist Xander Raymond Charles received the boot from the band despite being formally added to the band’s line-up earlier this year.

In a grid post to Instagram, Charles made the announcement himself – with no formal comment from Ill Niño available at the moment. The post reads:

“In the beginning of 2026, I was hired by the band Ill Niño to become a permanent replacement and the newest member. Last night, I received a call telling me they no longer need me as a replacement. This was a total shock, as I was committed for several months, and the first show is 3 weeks away. I was informed this decision was completely out of my control, and I had nothing to do with it.

As of today, I am available for work. If anyone needs a guitar player, I’m here. I keep my word, and I commit to what I agree to.

Lastly, there is no bad blood, and I understand this is strictly a business decision. I wish Ill Niño nothing but the best.

XRC”

There has been quite a lot of discourse regarding Ill Niño over the last few years, with several line-up changes and public spats with previous members, so this doesn’t seem entirely out of the realm of possibility. However, it will be interesting to hear Ill Niño‘s side of the story, should they decide to comment.

The aforementioned tour was announced back in November through a post uploaded to Instagram, with the band saying (translated):

“Today, we announce the first 7 stops of the Latin Nu-Metaleros ILL NIÑO tour, celebrating the “25 Years of Revolution” tour. The band will play all our songs from the album ‘Revolution… Revolución’ from beginning to end, and all our hits.

We are accompanied by the Hybrid de Metal-Reggae HED PE, and the Nu-Metal Rap-Rock group PRIMER 55. And our new friends DRIFT MOTHERSHIP.

Latinoamérica, don’t lose this unique cartel! Viva la Revolución.

Soon we will announce more countries.”
