A British far-right political commentator and executive tied to rapper Kanye West has been detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in New Orleans.

According to an ICE spokesperson, the agency is working on a statement regarding the detention of Milo Yiannopoulos.

The ICE detainee portal lists Yiannopoulos as in custody with the agency. He is accused of overstaying his visa.

According to a statement from ICE, Yiannopoulos was issued a final order of removal by an Immigration Judge on July 22 after failing to appear for his immigration hearing.

He will remain in ICE custody pending removal.

West is in New Orleans and is expected to perform a concert at the Superdome Friday night.

The tour has faced opposition due to West’s controversial statements.
