Human remains identified as missing New Mexico woman in kidnapping case
The remains of a woman who was kidnapped on July 9 have now been found.

New Mexico State police is now providing an update regarding the disappearance of a woman from a kidnapping earlier this month.
Officers say they received a call in the early morning hours of July 9 from a male who stated that he had been shot during a carjacking and that his girlfriend, Jeanette Salazar, was still inside the vehicle when it was taken.
As the investigation progressed, agents determined Salazar had been forcibly taken, and the New Mexico State Police issued a Missing Endangered Alert.
Danny Trujillo and Marcus Romero were both arrested that same day and charged with multiple felonies in connection with the incident.
Police say human remains were found at the Cordova Transfer Station on Monday, July 13. The OMI was later able to conclude on July 17 that the remains belonged to Jeanette Salazar.
The official cause and manner of death determination from the Office of the Medical Investigator is still pending.
The New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau continues to actively investigate this case. Additional charges may be filed as the investigation progresses.
