A huge crowd was vocal and eager to show support as PrideFest 2026 got underway Saturday in Nob Hill. The streets along Central Avenue showered love to members of the LGBTQ community during the annual Pride parade.Jennifer Schwartz has attended over 20 Pride parades in Albuquerque. She says it’s amazing to see how much the parade has grown over the years.”We’re loud, we’re proud,” Schwartz said. “I love seeing all the young people who are just discovering themselves and coming into themselves, and experiencing the love that this community has for them.”Dominique Chavez and Angelina Gurule attended their first Pride parade.”I’ve never seen this much love, so it feels really good,” Chavez said.”You can tell everybody is very accepting,” said Gurule. “In New Mexico, it’s very diverse. Everyone is very inclusive.”PrideFest 2026 continues with events and activities at Civic Plaza.
