Hotter and drier conditions stay in place through the week

Dry and hot weather will stick around through the workweek. A stretch of triple-digit heat will continue across southern New Mexico as well though next weekend. While almost all of New Mexico will stay dry, a pop up storm or two will be possible across some of the mountain peaks. That chance for rain will increase slightly with more isolated afternoon storms starting Wednesday. But the heat will continue with near record heat. More moisture looks to move back into the state through next week.
