Late country legend Jeannie Seely is set to be laid to rest in Nashville, and fans can view her memorial service both in person and online.

Jeannie Seely’s funeral is set for Thursday (Aug. 14), at 10AM CT at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.
Seely played the Opry 5,397 times — more than any other country star in its history — and the iconic country music institution is billing her memorial service as “Jeannie Seely’s 5,398th Opry Show.”
The service will be open to the public.

Jeannie Seely’s celebration of life service will broadcast live on 650 AM WSM, and it will also livestream at this link.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish can make donations to the Opry Trust Fund, which has distributed more than $4.8 million to music industry members in need since 1965.
Her team also suggests fans can donate in her memory to an organization that supports animals in need.
Who Was Jeannie Seely?
Jeannie Seely scored her first country solo hit in 1966 with “Don’t Touch Me,” which reached No. 2 on Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart and won her a Grammy Award for Best Female Vocal Performance.
Seely went on to a string of hits that included “It’s Only Love,” “A Wanderin’ Man,” “I’ll Love You More (Than You Need),” “Can I Sleep in Your Arms” and more.
She was also an actress, launching her career with a cameo role in Willie Nelson‘s Honeysuckle Rose in 1980.
She appeared in 2022’s Changing Hearts, as well as stage productions of Takin’ It Home (1986), The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1988), Everybody Loves Opal (1990), Always Patsy Cline (2001) and more.
How Did Jeannie Seely Die?
Jeannie Seely died on Aug. 1 of complications from an intestinal infection at the age of 85.
The country icon had been battling health issues for most of a year, which escalated after her husband, Gene Ward, died in December of 2024.
