Riley Green‘s “Imagine That” is a lovestruck Hail Mary: He’s willing to do anything, including abandon his pride, to get his lover back.
If you’re a sucker for a cowboy with a romantic streak, or a fan of Romeo and Juliet, this ballad might be your favorite track yet off of Green’s upcoming That’s Just Me album.
What Is Riley Green’s New Song “Imagine That” About?
“Imagine That” is sung from the perspective of a guy who’s willing to make a last-ditch effort to win back an ex. He calls her late at night and lays his cards on the table. Then, at the end of the song, he reveals that he’s right outside her door, ready to woo her back into his arms.
Green co-wrote this track with Ray Fulcher and Jonathan Singleton, and it’s backed by a traditional-sounding, steel-guitar-laden track that fits squarely in the wheelhouse of hits like “I Wish Grandpas Never Died.”

Riley Green, “Imagine That” Lyrics
Damn, I can’t believe that you picked up the phone / This late at night, I bet you’re wondering what the hell I want / I just called to let you know / That you’re the only ‘always on my mind’ / See if there’s a chance in hell / That you’d see me tonight
Before you make up your mind…
Chorus:
Imagine there’s a four-wheel drive waiting right outside / It’s ready to drive a thousand miles / Or just ride around a while / Imagine there’s a full moon shinin’ on a poor fool / Who’s ready to make things right / Even if it takes all night / And that ol’ boy’s just dying to get you back / Imagine that
Imagine he’s sorry and missing you / And cussin’ that wasted time / All the things he did and he didn’t do / Hell, he’s barely gettin’ by / Can’t you just close your eyes?
Repeat Chorus
Can you imagine that?
Just look out that window in your living room / And you’ll see me and right then you won’t have to…
Repeat Chorus
