Fans have heard plenty of Lainey Wilson songs about independence, freewheeling adventure and living life in the driver’s seat.
Her most romantic song — well, until now — is probably “4X4XU,” with lyrics that admit it can be tough for her to cede enough independence to let a partner into her life.

But “Phone, Keys, Wallet” finds Wilson getting comfortable with balancing her strong will and life as one half of a couple.
In fact, the person she’s singing to in this song is so much a part of her life, she wouldn’t be able to control the chaos without him.
It seems a pretty safe bet that the inspiration behind this love song is Wilson’s newly minted husband, Devlin “Duck” Dodges,” whom she married in May 2026.

The ceremony seemed to coincide with a new musical era for Wilson, who ditched her trademark bell-bottoms and cowboy hat in favor of a flowing red gown at the 2026 ACM Awards.
