Heat-related illnesses on the rise in New Mexico

New Mexico is seeing a sharp increase in heat-related illnesses this summer.

According to Source New Mexico, state officials say that 770 people have already visited emergency rooms for heat-related illnesses.

With more than a month of summer still remaining, health officials are urging people to stay hydrated, limit time outdoors, and check on children and older adults.
