Heat continues today with a slight shower/storm chance
Flash flood potential remains in southern NM
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —
The extreme heat we’ve been seeing across New Mexico will continue again this afternoon.
There is also a slight chance for showers and storms. And there is potential for flash flooding, although it is smaller today.
High temperatures remain above normal statewide as a high pressure remains over New Mexico.
A portion of Eddy County is under a heat advisory until 8 p.m.
Albuquerque will be under impact heat as temperatures will be near or around 100 degrees this afternoon.
The classic monsoon setup will stay in place today and Thursday, with moisture being carried to the north.
The hot temperatures will continue through the weekend and into early next week.
