The Greenville County Coroner’s Office released a statement about Hayden Panettiere’s toxicology report and the investigation into her death after a story was posted on TMZ Monday morning.

Panettiere, 36, died Aug. 16 in an apartment at Judson Mill Lofts on Easley Bridge Road in Greenville, South Carolina, according to the coroner’s office and police.

Coroner’s office responds to latest on toxicology

South Carolina sister station WYFF requested a statement from the Greenville County Coroner’s Office after seeing the reporting from TMZ.

Chief Deputy Coroner Shelton England released the following statement regarding TMZ’s reporting: “This office has not released anything as of now. We will send out an email release once the cause and manner of death are ready for release.”

Boyfriend detained, boyfriend’s brother arrested at Wild Wing over the weekend

Officers say an assault at a Greenville, South Carolina, restaurant led to multiple people being detained, including the boyfriend of late actress Hayden Panettiere and his brother on Saturday night.

The Greenville Police Department responded to the Wild Wing Cafe on Woodruff Road after a report of an assault inside the restaurant.

When police arrived, they located and detained several people involved in the altercation. Officers say two of those people were Brian Hickerson and Zachary Hickerson.

Officials say that investigators determined Zachary Hickerson was highly intoxicated and had begun yelling profanities in public.

Due to this, Zachary Hickerson was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and transported to the Greenville County Detention Center. He has since bonded out after receiving a personal recognizance bond of $257.50.

Officers say Brian Hickerson was released from the scene and was not charged.

Incident report from Hayden’s death

Authorities said EMS responded to the apartments on Aug. 16 after Panettiere’s acquaintance called 911.

The incident report revealed details on the response but also had areas that are blacked out and redacted.

The report listed the complainant as Brian Hickerson, 37, who the report says was Panettiere’s boyfriend.

It said police arrived at 1:58 p.m. Sunday and left at 7:30 p.m.

The report said, “When I arrived on scene I observed multiple EMS and Firemen performing CPR on a white female patient who appeared to be unresponsive. The patient did not seem to have any obvious physical reasons to be unresponsive.”

It went on to say, “EMS attempted to perform life-saving methods for an extended amount of time before they called a time of death.”

The report said while EMS was “working on the patient,” the officer spoke with two men who were at the apartment.

The officer said he spoke to Zach Hickerson first, who told the officer that the woman was his brother Brian’s girlfriend, according to the report.

There is a large portion of the report that is redacted here. It goes on to say that the men said they called 911.

The report said the officer spoke with Brian Hickerson more “in depth,” but that part of the report is redacted.

It went on to say, “I observed ZACH to be very emotional while EMS were working on HAYDEN. Brian did not become emotional until EMS declared her officially deceased.”

The report said, “BRIAN also showed me the bag of medication HAYDEN is currently on.”

The list of those medications was redacted.

According to the report, the courtesy officer at Judson Mill Lofts told officers that he had CCTV footage of all three individuals coming and going.

Hayden’s boyfriend hires lawyer

On Thursday, Aug. 20, Sloan Ellis and Brandi Hinton of the Ellis Hinton law firm stated that they are representing Panettiere’s boyfriend, Brian Hickerson. Hickerson was with Panettiere when she died.

Ellis Hinton released the following statement:

“Hayden’s death remains under investigation, and it is important to allow that investigation to proceed. As has been publicly reported, police confirmed there were no signs of foul play.

“Out of respect for Hayden’s loved ones and the ongoing investigation, there will be no further comment at this time.”
