GHOST Drop Steamy “Umbra” Video Ahead Of Valentine’s Day

Date:

It’s Friday the 13th, and Ghost are playing cupid. The theatrical metal juggernaut have unveiled a sultry new video for “Umbra,” a standout track from their international #1 album Skeletá. The song — already a fan favorite in arenas packed with devotees clamoring for more cowbell — now gets a cinematic visual treatment worthy of the band’s grand mythology.

Directed by Amir Chamdin, the “Umbra” clip traces the doomed trajectory of a star-crossed couple spiraling toward mutual destruction. Overseeing it all is Ghost‘s ever-watchful ringmaster, Papa V Perpetua, who narrates the lovers’ descent with eerie poise.

The release caps off what is shaping up to be another banner year for the Swedish outfit. Fresh off a GRAMMY nomination, Ghost are currently in the midst of the U.S. leg of their Skeletour Tour, which runs through February 23 at Los Angeles’ Intuit Dome. The trek has already moved roughly half a million tickets worldwide — and counting.

Skeletá, Ghost‘s sixth full-length and first to hit #1 on the Billboard 200, arrived April 25, 2025 via Loma Vista Recordings. “Umbra” marks the latest single from the record, following “Satanized” — hailed by VICE as a “catchy goth-rock epic” — as well as “Lachryma,” which the band performed during their debut appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and the towering album opener “Peacefield.”
