Four Peaks fire burning in Tonto National Forest



The fire was reported to authorities at 4 p.m. Saturday.

ARIZONA, Texas — Fire crews are fighting the Peak Fire about two miles east of State Route 87 near Four Peaks, according to information from the Tonto National Forest. 

The fire is estimated to be about 150 acres, 0 percent contained and began near Forest Road 143. 

Seven engines and a large air tanker are responding to the area and more resources have been ordered, officials said. 

Forest Road 143 is closed beginning at State Route 87 for the safety of firefighters.
