On Wednesday evening, 4-year-old Gio Marino and his dad were driving by the Boat House when Gio said, “Dad, I see someone laying under a boat bleeding,” according to the Cape Coral Fire Department.The department said his dad questioned what Gio had seen but turned around to check. When they got to the Boat House, the CCFD said they found a semiconscious man under a boat, bleeding.The fire department said the man appeared to have driven an electric scooter into a boat and sustained injuries. Gio’s dad, who happens to be a Cape Coral firefighter, began helping the man and called 911. For being diligent and watchful and helping someone in need, firefighters invited Gio to the fire station and presented him with a Community Recognition Coin on Thursday.
