Hurricane Polo is set to make landfall in Baja California on Monday with impacts beginning to be felt in New Mexico.

Hurricane Polo is expected to track toward New Mexico and remnants of the hurricane could move directly over the state.

Flood Watch for all of New Mexico
Today, remnants from Tropical Storm Odalys are spreading across Arizona and will flow into New Mexico. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to increase in western New Mexico from Farmington to Gallup and then move through Albuquerque and northern parts of New Mexico before exiting in eastern New Mexico Tuesday morning.
Flash flooding is possible in New Mexico on Monday evening and Tuesday morning.
On Tuesday, remnant moisture from Hurricane Polo could impact New Mexico with heavy rain over areas that have seen flash flooding over the past few days, including areas near burn scars.

A flood watch has been issued for all of New Mexico through Tuesday night.
Northern and central New Mexico, including Albuquerque and Santa Fe, areas along and west of the central mountains and in the Rio Grande Valley could see excessive runoff from heavy rain, causing flooding in creeks, streams and other flood prone areas. Some roads and low water crossings could flooding.

The surge of moisture from the remnants of two storms will produce multiple days of showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain. Due to the ground saturated from flooding and heavy from last week, the risk for more flash flooding is possible.

Excessive Rainfall Risk for New Mexico on Tuesday
In northeast and east central New Mexico, runoff from heavy rains and prior flooding could result in creeks, streams and low-lying areas experiencing another flash flood. Some creeks and streams could reach or exceed their banks.
