Flash flood warning issued for Bernalillo County until 12 a.m.

A flash flood warning has been issued for Bernalillo County in central New Mexico until 12 a.m.

The warning is in effect due to heavy rain and thunderstorms.

Some locations that will experience flooding include eastern Albuquerque and Sandia Heights.

This includes the following highways: Interstate 40 between mile markers 160 and 168. Interstate 25 between mile markers 221 and 230.

Officials want to remind the public to turn around and not drown when encountering flooded roads.
