FILTH Launches GoFundMe After Tour Van Destroyed In Hit-And-Run

Date:

North Carolina deathcore act Filth is reaching out to fans for help following a hit-and-run accident that left their tour van and trailer completely destroyed. The incident occurred on I-95, when another vehicle caused the crash and then fled the scene.

In a March 11, Facebook post, the band reassured fans that everyone is safe but acknowledged the financial strain the accident has caused.

“Yesterday morning we were in an accident on I-95 that ended with the other individual fleeing the scene and us with a totaled van and wrecked trailer. Everyone is okay and safe. We were able to rush around and lock in a RV to finish the tour, and with the help of our tour mates Blackwater Drowning we were able to still perform last night,” the band wrote.

Filth explained that the costs of replacing the van, covering tour expenses, and paying merch obligations have left them in a financial bind. To get back on track, they have launched a GoFundMe campaign (whcih you can donate to here). Fans who donate $50 or more will receive a free band t-shirt and guest-list access to any upcoming show of their choice.

“We truly hate to ask for any help, but at the moment we are at our wits’ end. We cannot express how much we appreciate all the support we’ve gotten over the years from everyone, it means the world to us,” Filth added.

Here’s hoping Filth gets back on their feet, and whoever hit them and fled gets bagged. I mean really, what a shitty thing to do.
