The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation awarded communities in eastern New Mexico with $77 million in federal funding to help complete rural water systems for nearly 73,000 New Mexicans.The funding will continue construction of the Eastern New Mexico Rural Water System, a project delivering a long-term, renewable water supply to the area.Communities impacted include: ClovisCannon Air Force BasePortales Texico ElidaWith the $77 million, ENMWUA has secured approximately $95.7 million in total funding toward completion of 16.3 miles of pipelines.The system has been under construction for eight years according to the chair of the ENMWUA Board of Directors. With the $77 million, ENMWUA has secured approximately $95.7 million in total funding toward completion of 16.3 miles of pipelines.

The system has been under construction for eight years according to the chair of the ENMWUA Board of Directors. They expect the project to be completed within the next five years.
