Fawn rescued from basement of burned-out home

A Shirley, Massachusetts, police sergeant played the role of rescuer on Thursday when a fawn was found stuck in the basement of a recently burned-out house.Shirley police said when officers arrived at the home, the mother deer remained nearby, searching for her baby.Officers entered the basement and safely rescued the fawn.Sgt. Romilly carefully carried the baby deer outside and reunited it with its mother.It’s unclear how the fawn got into the basement of the home.
