Farmington police arrest suspect in multi-felony crime spree
Fidel Curtis, 26, was taken into custody after he crashed a stolen car in Colorado.
A 26-year-old man wanted on 19 felony chares connected with a crime spree from Dec 21-26 was taken into custody in La Plata County, Colorado after crashing a stolen car, a Farmington Police Department social media release said. FPD investigators were investigating what they thought were separate cases until they were able to identify 26-year-old Fidel Curtis of Farmington as the suspect.Curtis was later contacted by law enforcement in La Plata County, Colorado, following a crash involving a stolen vehicle. During the investigation, Curtis admitted to multiple crimes committed in Farmington, including incidents that had not yet been reported to FPD.Back in Farmington, Curtis was arrested and booked into the San Juan County Adult Detention Center, charged with auto burglaries, a commercial burglary, larceny, theft, unlawful use of debit and credit cards, criminal damage to property, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, and driving while license revoked.
