EGREGORE Plunge Deeper Into Occult Abyss With New Record, It Echoes In The Wild

Date:

Here we find ourselves among the Canadian miscreants Egregore, returning from whence the wind howls like a damned choir and the Earth knows no master. With their second album, It Echoes In The Wild, the band chart a broader sonic wilderness.

Formed from a network of underground lifers — uniting members of Mitochondrion, Reversed, Ruinous Power, and formerly of AurochEgregore‘s early occult black/death metal lunacy now mutates into something more expansive, elemental and untamed.

Engineered and recorded by Mariessa McLeod, then mixed and mastered by Arthur Rizk — whose résumé includes Blood Incantation, Dream Unending, and Tomb Mold — the album carries both clarity and corrosion. The visual realm is equally meticulous: cover art by Luciana Lupe Vasconcelos, illustration and layout by Dipayan Das, and logo work by Karmazid complete the invocation.

Stylistically, the record feels prime for devotees of Nocturnus, Morbid Angel, King Diamond, Samael, Superstition, Angelcorpse, Mortuary Drape, Necrophobic, Absu, and The Chasm — yet Egregore sound beholden to none.

The band have also unveiled a video for “Stair Into The Vortex,” directed and edited by Christopher Lazar. Pre-orders for It Echoes In The Wild are available here.

Catastrophe Saturna of Egregore proclaims: “Let us be your magnificent psycopompii as we guide you down the stairway – mind your step – and into the vortex. This way you will be prepared for the initial confrontation with the journey into the great unknown, uncharted. Relax; we have some more unique tricks up our sleeves, but this isn’t one of them.

“No! This is the Egregore in its most unadulterated form: raucous, ribald, ripe, seasick, and yearning for ascendency. Don’t fret! The mad strangeness and unexpected twists and turns will be plentiful as you strain to hear the Echoes in the Wild.”
