Dutton Ranch fans figured a second season of this Yellowstone spinoff was inevitable, but it’s still nice to know. Season 2 has officially been confirmed.
Paramount+ sent word of the renewal on Wednesday (June 24). Season 1 is scheduled to wrap on July 3.
- Dutton Ranch follows Beth and Rip (Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser) as they try to start life anew in south Texas when a fire destroys their ranch in Montana.
- They soon come up against Beulah Jackson (Annette Bening) and her formidable family.
- The show has brought tremendous streaming numbers to the network. P+ says 12.9 million in the first seven days is a channel record.

When Does Dutton Ranch Season 2 Begin?
Taste of Country spoke with the show’s Natalie Alyn Lind (Oreana) and Finn Little (Carter) on Tuesday night and both were very excited about the new season. Neither was actively filming however.
She was talking from Los Angeles and Little was back home in Brisbane, Australia.
That all but dashes hopes of a quick turnaround, but don’t despair!
Yellowstone franchise shows have turned around new seasons in under a year, so a spring 2027 premiere for Season 2 seems reasonable. That would allow time for Season 3 of Landman to come and go, as well as Season 2 of the Madison, which isn’t really a Yellowstone franchise show even if it’s set in Montana.
Creators will need to find a new showrunner as Chad Feehan was ousted ahead of the Season 1 premiere. Feehan also wrote much of the series so far.
Dutton Ranch Season 2 Cast
Cast for Season 2 was not confirmed but when asked, Lind indicated her character would continue to develop next season. Beth, Rip and Carter also seem like show staples even if the first season focused more on the Jackson’s 10 Petal Ranch at times than their house.
A significant cliff hanger or major death to close the season seems all but certain. From most to least likely, here is who the Dutton Rules podcast team believes will perish in the next two weeks (main cast only):
