Dutton Ranch Has a Train Station Too! Everything You Need To Know

Date:

Dutton Ranch‘s version of Yellowstone‘s “train station” is so terrifying that even Rip Wheeler wants to stay away.

Actor Cole Hauser says the new burial ground for his enemies is — in real life — teeming with rattlesnakes.

  • Dutton Ranch debuted last Friday on Paramount+ and Paramount Network.
  • The “Train Station” was the nickname for a cliff the Yellowstone Duttons chose to drop their enemies after killing them.
  • For this new spinoff, Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler move from Dillon, Montana to (fictional) Rio Paloma, Texas.

Is There a Train Station On Dutton Ranch?

There absolutely is a train station on Dutton Ranch, and that’s not just fan opinion. Actor Cole Hauser talked about it while visiting with the Kelly Clarkson Show (more on that in a moment). Fans should expect to see more of this place throughout Season 1.

The drop spot for dead bodies is a mineshaft on a heavily gated piece of property Rip first comes across while driving Zachariah home from prison in Ep. 2. The new ranch hand says he needs to use the bathroom and while waiting for him to finish, Rip reads the warning signs and recognizes a solutioin.

Later, we learn the problem.

He has a body to drop. For reasons we can only speculate on (don’t worry, we did), Rip dug up the body of Wes, who was foreman at the 10P Ranch until Rob Will shot him. Instead of calling the sheriff, Rip drives the body to the mine shaft and chucks it in. Several seconds pass before toss and “thunk,” indicating a very deep well.

Bodies are even less likely to be discovered there than they were on Yellowstone.

Dutton Ranch Cole Hauser Interview

Talking to Clarkson, Hauser shares that Dutton Ranch snake wranglers caught 3,400 rattlesnakes over eight months of filming and one of the worst spots was the location of the new train station.

“We actually were gonna go film there at night and got turned away,” he shares. “Christina (director Christina Alexandra Voros) found like … 40 or 50 rattlesnakes.”

No snakes were spotted during the first Train Station visit scene in Dutton Ranch. Not that Wes (the dead foreman) would have cared.
