DRAGONFORCE’s MARC HUDSON Joins Netflix Anime Hit Dan Da Dan for a Metal-Fueled Exorcism Scene

Date:

Metal meets anime! Again! DragonForce frontman Marc Hudson has officially lent his powerhouse vocals to the cult hit anime series Dan Da Dan, voicing a key character in the English dub of Season 2, Episode 6 – dropping August 7, 2025, on Netflix and Crunchyroll.

Hudson brings his signature melodic fire to the role of Hayashi, performing an exorcism chant through the sheer force of heavy metal. It’s a moment as wild as it sounds – fitting perfectly with Dan Da Dan‘s irreverent, unpredictable tone.

“I’m beyond thrilled to announce that I had the incredible opportunity to be a voice actor in Dan Da Dan – one of my all-time favourite anime series!” said Hudson. “I play the role of the vocalist for Hayashi in Season 2, Episode 6, and getting to perform the exorcism song as part of the character was an absolute blast.

“After making Starbound Stories, an album deeply inspired by anime, I was so happy to be invited to actually sing on an anime – it felt like everything had come full circle. This show is wild, creative, and full of heart, and it was a real privilege to be a part of it. As the vocalist of DragonForce, I’ve had the chance to perform on some amazing songs and albums, but this was a whole new and exciting experience. I can’t wait for everyone to see the episode!”

What Is Dan Da Dan?

Created by Yukinobu Tatsu, Dan Da Dan is a fast-rising anime and manga series that blends sci-fi, horror, comedy, and teen angst in one trippy package. Since debuting on streaming platforms, it has quickly become a fan favorite for its bizarre supernatural encounters, rapid-fire animation, and emotionally charged storytelling. Think Chainsaw Man meets Mob Psycho 100 – but with UFOs, ghosts, cursed testicles, and awkward high school crushes.

The show follows Momo Ayase and Ken Takakura, two teens caught in a tug-of-war between paranormal forces and alien invasions. In Episode 6 of Season 2 (Episode 18 overall), the show cranks things to eleven by using metal music as a weapon of spiritual purification, a creative twist that gave Hudson the perfect moment to shine.
