DISTURBED To Take A “Nice Long Break” Now That Their European Tour Is Over

Date:

Disturbed just wrapped up their 25th anniversary tour around their 2000 album The Sickness on October 28, and now it’s time for a break. In two separate posts, Disturbed frontman David Drainman revealed the band’s plans to take “a nice long break” before touring again. Whether or not this also includes new music remains to be seen.

“Headed home!!! Thanks so much to EVERYONE that made #TheSickness25 a tour to truly remember! Crew, Management, Agent, Promoters, and ESPECIALLY my brothers in Disturbed,” wrote Draiman. “Not sure when we will be headed back out. We all need a nice long break. Hope to see you when we do.”

Draiman then added in a second, separate post: “Feeling high school high after not burning (except Amsterdam… that doesn’t count) for the last three months in preparation for #TheSickness25. Reflecting on the beautiful madness of it all. Looking forward to being with family and friends. Taking a nice long break.”

I’d also imagine Draiman is exhausted from taking an endless amount of (rightfully-deserved) heat over that photo he posted a photo of himself signing an artillery shell meant to be launched by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) into Gaza. The image, which circulated widely on social media, triggered backlash — especially after it resurfaced during a heated online spat between Draiman and Irish pro-Palestinian rap collective Kneecap.

Things escalated further when Draiman was booed during a surprise appearance at Black Sabbath’s farewell show in Birmingham, just weeks after the incident reignited online. And then again earlier this month when Disturbed‘s show at the Vorst Nationaal on Wednesday, October 15 was cancelled. Oh, and actor John Cusack also called him “psychotic.”
