Farmer Wants a Wife star John Sansone teased a relationship with singer Ella Langley last fall. For the first time, he’s sharing how cozy they really got.
The Season 3 farmer joined Season 4 Farmer Wants a Wife farmers for select media appearances ahead of next Tuesday’s (April 21) premiere on Fox (8PM ET). The full interview with Taste of Country is featured in the video below. Among the non-Ella highlights:

Quick backstory: Both Sansone and Langley shared videos of them shooting guns just before Thanksgiving last year. The Instagram vids were a bit random and tucked at the end of separate life catch-up dumps.

That’s compelling, but hardly evidence of a budding love. If you recall, after appearing on Farmer Wants a Wife, Sansone became a popular social media collaborator and talking to Taste of Country he admitted that’s in part because it’s just good business.
So, maybe he and Langley are just friends who share an interest in hunting?
Maybe they were intentionally trying to create a little buzz?
Or, maybe things were more serious.
That was was the question we had for Sansone when he visited this week.

Actually, ToC’s Adison Haager started by asking if John was an Ella Fella. That’s the term for men who are fans of hers.
John Sansone: Why don’t you just ask it Adison? Go ahead and ask.

We dated for a couple months.
But you’re not dating any more?
No.
The St. Louis-based farmer didn’t spill details about why it didn’t work out but, he did share it started with a TikTok DM and became more than a passing conversation after they ran into one another at awards shows.
Did you slide into her DMs?
Yes. Of course.
How does John Sansone slide into someone’s DMs? What was the line?
I don’t remember. Obviously something creative. It wouldn’t just be (in a doltish voice) “Hi.” I don’t know.
It was all positive from John. He has genuine respect for her music and the hard work she’s put into her career. There wasn’t a hint of body language to suggest otherwise.
Who Is Ella Langley Dating In 2026?
Ella doesn’t share too many details about her personal life, which is hardly unusual for a rising country female. Lainey Wilson did similar, hoping to keep the focus on her music and not her boyfriend. That’s why she waited several years to reveal she was dating Devlin Duck Hodges.
Fans don’t know if she’s dating anyone or even who that could be. The same is true for Sansone.
“Not really worried about that right now,” he says. “Just not focused on it. I’ve met cool people in the past and things don’t work out but (I’m) just coasting.”
